In this article

You are comparing Klaviyo and Connectif as if they were two versions of the same thing, and that is the first mistake. They are not. One is a top-tier email and SMS marketing platform. The other is something broader: a tool that, on top of email and SMS, personalises your own store in real time while the customer browses.

That is why the question is not "which is better", but "what do you need it to do". If you want the best email and SMS engine for ecommerce, the answer is Klaviyo. If you also want to personalise what each visitor sees on your site as they browse, the answer is Connectif.

In this article we explain how they differ, what kind of brand fits each, and what you should weigh before deciding. We work with Klaviyo every day, so we know well where it shines and where it falls short, and we analyse Connectif with the same rigour.

What you need to know if you are in a hurry

If you do not want to read the whole article, here is the summary:

Choose Klaviyo if your priority is email and SMS: powerful automations, predictive analytics, advanced segmentation and the deepest Shopify integration there is. It is the market reference in email marketing for ecommerce.

Choose Connectif if what you are after goes beyond email and SMS: you want to personalise what each visitor sees in your store as they browse, show different product recommendations based on their behaviour, and coordinate all your communication channels from a single platform. It is especially relevant if your strategy revolves around the on-site experience, not just the inbox.

Where they come from: global specialist versus Spanish omnichannel

Klaviyo: the global reference in ecommerce email

Klaviyo was founded in 2012 in Boston with a clear idea: to help ecommerce brands use their own data. It started as a pure analytics tool and ended up building a CDP with an email and SMS engine on top. That obsession with data is what made it the worldwide reference in email marketing for ecommerce.

Its corporate path explains its scale. Klaviyo has raised $778M in funding and has been publicly traded since 2023. That translates into an enormous platform, with hundreds of integrations, a massive community of users and agencies, and a relationship with Shopify no other tool has (Shopify is a part-owner of Klaviyo). The flip side of that scale is that it is a US company built for a global market: support and documentation are mostly in English, and pricing adjustments follow the logic of a listed company.

Connectif: the Spanish player betting on the web

Connectif is younger and much more local. It was founded in Murcia in 2018 and is a private Spanish company, with a small team and organic growth, without Klaviyo's multi-million rounds or stock-market pressure. Its customer base is heavily concentrated in Spain, with well-known names from the national ecommerce scene among its references.

That closeness is part of its offer. Support is in Spanish and it understands the local market, which for many Spanish brands is a real advantage over opening a ticket in English with a team in another time zone. But the underlying difference is not in where they come from, it is in what each decided to be: Klaviyo is an email and SMS specialist taken to the extreme, and Connectif bet on something more ambitious, acting on the client's own website as well. That takes us to the point that really separates them.

The difference that changes everything: email marketing versus CDXP

Here is the point no comparison explains well and that defines the whole decision.

Klaviyo is an email and SMS marketing tool. It collects your customers' data, lets you segment them and sends them messages by email or SMS at the right moment. It does it excellently, but its playing field is the customer's inbox and phone.

Connectif is a CDXP, a Customer Data Experience Platform. It does email and SMS too, but it adds push notifications and, above all, dynamic web content: it can change what each visitor sees in your own store according to their behaviour. A user who has looked at running shoes lands on your homepage and sees a running banner, running recommendations and a popup tuned to that, all in real time. Klaviyo does not do that: it can personalise the email you send afterwards, but not the experience while they browse.

The simple way to see it is this. Klaviyo speaks to the customer when they are not on your site. Connectif speaks to them when they are on it too. That is why they are not the same product category, and why comparing them only on "who sends better emails" falls short.

Start with what matters: what are you going to do with it?

Before looking at features or prices, define what you want it for. It is what should carry the most weight in the decision.

Klaviyo fits if your priority is the email and SMS channel taken to the maximum: advanced flows with many branches, fine segmentation, predictive analytics and the deepest possible Shopify integration. If your retention is decided above all in the inbox and you want to make the most of that channel down to the last euro, it is the right platform for your online store.

Connectif fits if your strategy revolves around the web and omnichannel: you want to personalise browsing, show different product recommendations to each visitor, coordinate email, SMS, push and on-site content in a single flow, and lean on your store's first-party data to make business-wide decisions, not just email ones.

The question that sums it up: is your growth lever in the emails or in the experience inside your website?

On-site personalisation and recommendations: where Connectif wins

This is Connectif's great strength, and it is worth understanding well because it is its reason for being.

Connectif uses its own product-recommendation algorithms, so each contact can receive unique suggestions: products related to their last purchase, their last cart, what they have browsed. And those recommendations do not live only in the email, they also appear inside the website through dynamic content that adapts in real time to each user's behaviour. Within a single workflow you can decide whether to show a segment an on-site banner, send them a push, an email or an SMS, depending on what makes most sense at that moment.

Klaviyo allows some content personalisation, for instance showing different blocks depending on the segment a contact belongs to, but it does not go as far as modifying the browsing experience with recommendations specific to each person in real time. If on-site personalisation is the centre of your strategy, Connectif has a clear advantage here.

Email, SMS and predictive analytics: where Klaviyo wins

On its own turf, email and SMS, Klaviyo is hard to beat.

Its automation engine is one of the most powerful on the market: visual flows with advanced logic, A/B testing of practically any element and fully native SMS within the same journey, with MMS support. On top of that sits its predictive analytics, probably its jewel: it calculates each customer's estimated lifetime value (CLV), predicts when they are likely to buy again and identifies who is at risk of churning, all usable directly inside the flows to reactivate contacts automatically.

Connectif does email and SMS too and integrates them into its workflows, but its nature is different: it shines in omnichannel orchestration and personalisation, not in being the most refined email engine. If email is your star channel and you want maximum testing and prediction depth, Klaviyo is ahead.

    Segmentation: two different philosophies

Both segment well, but they do it differently.

Klaviyo works with two models: lists, which are static groupings (those who subscribe through a specific popup, for example), and segments, which are dynamic groupings based on rules, where a contact enters and leaves automatically depending on whether they meet the conditions, whether of profile or of behaviour. Dynamic segments are unlimited, which in practice means you can create as many as you need without restrictions.

Connectif adds a third model that makes the difference, with static, dynamic and dynamic+ segments, and the ability to feed them through workflows for very fine segmentation. The less favourable side is that the number of segments is limited according to the plan, which can be a brake for brands with complex segmentation strategies.

    Integrations: native connectors versus API

Here both your platform and the rest of your stack matter.

Both have native connectors for the main ecommerce CMSs: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and PrestaShop. Klaviyo adds BigCommerce and its privileged relationship with Shopify, where nobody matches its depth of data. Connectif has been expanding its connectors and allows integration through tagging or JS on custom sites, even to generate custom events.

The difference is in the third-party ecosystem. Klaviyo has a huge number of native connectors with tools common in ecommerce: loyalty (LoyaltyLion, Smile.io, Yotpo), reviews (Okendo, Trustpilot), subscriptions (Recharge), customer service (Gorgias). Connectif has fewer native connectors, but makes up for it with a powerful API: if you have development muscle, you can build custom integrations and generate custom fields and events of real value. The practical read: Klaviyo gives it to you done with clicks, Connectif gives you flexibility if you have the technical team to make the most of it.

Price: two models you cannot compare

This is a point to be careful with, because comparing figures would be misleading.

Klaviyo charges by active profiles: since 2025 it counts every active profile in your account, not just the ones you send to, and its pricing is public and transparent on its website. Your bill rises as your contact base grows.

Connectif works on a completely different axis: it charges according to your web visits and the total emails sent, and its pricing is not public, it goes by custom quote. This has an important practical consequence: a store with a lot of traffic but a small contact list can pay more than it would expect, whereas in Klaviyo the cost is tied to the size of the contact base.

That is why it makes no sense to put up a table of prices side by side: they do not measure the same thing. The sensible thing is to ask Connectif for a quote for your real volume of traffic and sends, and compare it with what you would pay in Klaviyo based on your active profiles. Only then will you have figures that mean anything for your case.

Support and language: a point for the local player

It is a factor that gets underestimated until you need it.

Connectif offers support in Spanish, with a team that understands the local market and that you can turn to with no language or time-zone barrier. For many Spanish brands, especially small teams, that is a tangible advantage over the alternative.

Klaviyo has support and documentation built for a global market, mostly in English, with direct support limited in time depending on the plan. It makes up for it with a massive community, a very complete training academy and an enormous network of partner agencies that know the tool inside out. It is not worse, it is different: you trade closeness and language for scale and ecosystem.

So which one do I choose?

Choose Klaviyo if: your priority is email and SMS at the highest level, you want predictive analytics and advanced segmentation, you are on Shopify and want the deepest integration, you work with an ecosystem of retention tools, or you need a platform with transparent pricing and the backing of a global community.

Choose Connectif if: your strategy revolves around the web and omnichannel, you want to personalise the browsing experience with dynamic content and real-time recommendations, you value coordinating every channel in a single flow, and support in Spanish that understands the local market gives you peace of mind.

And the tip we always give: think two years out, not just today. Unlike migrations between ecommerce platforms, changing marketing automation tool is not especially complex in itself: contacts export and flows get rebuilt. What you do lose is the history, the accumulated analytics and past tests. Choose where you want to be, not just where you are.

How we see it at STRAT

Let us be clear about our position, because it is part of how we work. At STRAT we work with Klaviyo every day and know it inside out: we know what kind of brands it performs for, how to build the flows that generate the most revenue and how to make the most of its analytics. We are not Connectif partners, so what we have told you about it is an honest analysis from the outside, not the experience of having run it on a client.

What does that mean for you? That if your case fits an approach centred on high-performance email and SMS, we can help you build it in Klaviyo and always report on what reaches your P&L, not on the tool's loose metrics. And if you are already on Connectif and considering the move to Klaviyo, that migration is exactly one of the areas where we can support you.

    Frequently asked questions

Klaviyo or Connectif, which is better? Neither is better in the abstract, because they are not the same category of tool. Klaviyo is a top-tier email and SMS marketing platform. Connectif is a CDXP that also personalises your website in real time. The right one depends on whether your lever is in the inbox or in the on-site experience.

What is the main difference between the two? Klaviyo focuses on email and SMS, with predictive analytics and a very deep Shopify integration. Connectif adds push and dynamic web content on top, changing what each visitor sees in your store according to their behaviour. It is the difference between speaking to the customer outside your site and speaking to them inside it too.

Which suits me if I am on Shopify? Both integrate with Shopify, but Klaviyo has the deepest data-level integration, since Shopify is a part-owner of Klaviyo. If you are going to lean hard on email, SMS and behavioural data, it fits very well. Connectif also works on Shopify and brings its on-site personalisation.

Why don't you compare the prices directly? Because they charge on different axes and are not comparable. Klaviyo bills by active profiles and Connectif by web visits plus emails sent. A table of figures side by side would be misleading. The right thing is to ask Connectif for a quote for your real traffic and sends, and compare it with your Klaviyo cost based on your active profiles.

Is Connectif a good option because it is Spanish? Its support in Spanish and its knowledge of the local market are a real advantage, especially for small teams that prefer not to deal with support in English. But the decision should be based on what you need to do with the tool, not just the language of the support.

Can I migrate from Connectif to Klaviyo later? Yes. The contact migration is manageable and the flows get rebuilt in the new platform. What does not migrate is the analytics history and accumulated tests. If you are considering that change, at STRAT we can support you in the migration to Klaviyo.

The choice between Klaviyo and Connectif depends on where your growth lever is, in email and SMS or in the experience inside your website. If your case calls for a powerful email engine, with advanced flows, fine segmentation and predictive analytics, at STRAT we are a Klaviyo Partner agency and we build the flows that generate the most revenue, always reporting on what reaches your P&L. And if you are already on Connectif and considering the move, we support the Connectif to Klaviyo migration without losing contacts or consents along the way.

I founded STRAT with one fixed idea: that ecommerce marketing should be measured in profit, not in metrics that look good in a report. I have spent years deep in paid media, email marketing and Shopify, and I have learned that profitable growth does not come from any miracle channel, but from making all the pieces work together. Today I help ecommerce brands scale without losing sight of the only thing that matters: making real money.
